3 Toolsets to speed up work

Over the past few months I have been working on multiple shots spread across 3 different projects and each time I opened nuke for a new shot I would construct the node tree from scratch, whilst this didn't take up too much time doing this from scratch I decided to make some toolsets to speed things up a bit when starting a new comp. the first toolset I made was for degraining and regraining plates.

  1. Read in the plate at the top of the comp

  2. degrain the plate, write out the degrained plate or read in an already degrained plate.

  3. space to work on the comp and add any elements to it.

  4. regrain the plate, limited to the specific areas that you have changed

  5. QC checks and writes out the final comp

the next template I made is for applying Roto to the comp with edge treatments.

  1. Read in the roto

  2. remove or add parts to the roto, and convert the RGB values to alpha.

  3. read in the shots plate

  4. Edge treatment

  5. Merge back over the comp

the third toolset I made is for grading elements

  1. read in the element

  2. shuffle out the correct layer

  3. control saturation in log

  4. control, exposure, colour, and contrast

  5. Black matching

  6. Blur or defocus using zdefocus
